Description
This beautiful sunrise was a combination of good fortune and adrenaline. I left home hours before sunrise and headed toward the finger lakes, with no real destination or specific location planned. Once I reached the Cayuga Lake area, I was keeping my eye out for "that scene" to take advantage of the sunrise. Being unfamiliar with the area, the colors were beginning to appear and I still had not discovered a location. I began to panic as the minutes grew closer and closer to the precious few moments that a photographer gets to capture the sunrise. In a hope and pray last minute dash, I pulled over, stopped the car, grabbed my gear, ran across the road, and down the shoreline to nowhere! I saw this dock ahead and knew that was my only hope to compose and capture the scene before it was too late. Through a hazy sky, I managed to capture a handful of beautiful shots. It was the difference between a long, wasted trip and a wonderful success! I was so grateful to capture this passing moment in time! These images have turned out to be some of my best sellers. Looks great in any media.
