Waking up before 2:00 A.M. and seeing the clear skies, motivated me to get out of bed take the 30 minute drive to Lake Ontario. A 10 minute hike through the woods, brought me to one of my favorite night locations along the shore. The thing about stars is, you need to be away from all the city lights to really begin to realize how many are out there. Standing in total darkness, with only the sounds of the water faintly lapping against the rocks, I was able to see and capture the Milky Way and six shooting stars. The golden light you see on the horizon is Toronto, in Canada. Approximately 150 miles away.
