Leaving the sidewalks of Paris and entering an area of massive interior architecture, I had no idea what was just around the enormous columns! I remember thinking, "Wow! This is weird that this is not gated off. I wonder what is in here?" All the while I was thinking, "I probably shouldn't be going in here!" The clock was just shy of midnight and darkness made this feel like a potentially unsafe area.
As my eyes peered around the corner, following the faint glimmer of light that painted the stone floor, leading me down a long, long row of huge, towering columns, I had no idea this was about to be my very first glimpse at the Louvre! I'll never forget it!
