The Clark's Grebe is a western/pacific water bird with striking red/orange eyes and a long bright bill. This grebe is the first Clark's Grebe ever recorded in New York State. Amazing capture! That looks like a big fish (do you know what kind?) staring down its captor's throat here! So does the bird really manage to win the battle and gulp that whole thing okay? Does the fish put up a good fight, if eaten does the unlucky prey get swallowed wriggling all the way down as well?!
Everet Regal replied:
Thank you, Kyle! I don't know what kind of fish this was, but I've watched many water fowl, swallow fish that you'd swear couldn't possibly make it down their throat.

Beautiful capture! :)

Thank you, Sheila!
